加拿大最高法院：
法院命令媒體提供採訪對話，合憲。

某媒體採訪並報導一個加拿大男子加入IS的故事，如故事內容屬實，該男子將成立多項恐怖主義罪名。
警方雖有該男子之姓名，但並無其他證據，遂向法院聲請令狀，法院命媒體必須交出與該男子之對話紀錄。
媒體認為他們只有通訊軟體之截圖，而且沒有交出的義務，隨後提起抗告。

最高法院一致決認為，法院必須衡量寒蟬效應以及國家追訴犯罪的利益，當犯罪越嚴重時，國家利益就越高。本案毫無疑問，警方具有高度追訴犯罪的利益。

同時，最高法院也強調，如果在聲請階段就對警方設下過高的證明門檻，等於將偵查階段轉變為「證明有罪無罪的審判階段」，這樣將明顯減損警方追訴犯罪的能力，並不恰當。
